Interim ban on tomorrow's legislative siege against CAA

சிஏஏவுக்கு எதிராக நாளை நடைபெற இருந்த சட்டமன்ற முற்றுகைப் போராட்டத்திற்கு இடைக்கால தடை ...
Islamic organizations and political parties announced Wednesday that they would block the legislative session, urging the legislature to pass a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The welfare case was filed in the Madras High Court seeking a ban.

In the petition, the siege was reported to affect the civilian life and law and order. The petition came up for hearing at a session of Justices Sathyanarayanan and Hemalatha.

At the time, the Chennai Municipal Police Department was told that the Bar could never be granted a siege. It was also noted that the petition for permission to pursue the siege was rejected by the police.

Subsequently, the judges ordered an interim injunction to protest the illegal blockade, which the police have declared without proper permission.

Following the petition, the Central and State Governments, Tamil Nadu DGP, Chennai Police Commissioner, Varnaparapet Police Deputy Commissioner and Inspector, responded by postponing the hearing to the 11th of next month.
